Git/SVN Service at the Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science provides a central svn-, git-, gitlab-Server for employees.
svn-server: svn.informatik.hu-berlin.de
- svn version 1.10.6
- New repositories may be requested from the technical staff of the chairs or by sending an e-mail to rbg@informatik.hu-berlin.de. The following information needs to be included in the request: name of the repository and the names of the authorized users with their respective read and write permissions. Each user must have an account for authentication (this applies to external users alike).
- The repositories are accessed via:
https://svn.informatik.hu-berlin.de/<CHAIRGROUP>/<repositoryname>. - All repositories are kept in sync for backup on a second server.
- Incremental dumps are created from all repositories at night for backup.
- An e-mail notification triggered by repository changes may be configured.
- A ticketsystem (trac) is available for setup.

gitlab-server: gitlab.informatik.hu-berlin.de
- Up to 30 repositories per student or employee may be requested (and setup). Accounts that have been active for some time may be limited to only 10 repositories. The limit may be raised upon request if needed (rbg@informatik.hu-berlin.de).
- External users need a guest account for authentication purposes.
- The repositories are included in a regular daily backup routine.
