DSSC - Detecting and Supporting Student Creativity in online learning
since 2020
The DSSC is a research project funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) to develop technology-based environments to detect and support creativity in students in online learning. The goal of the project is to develop novel computational models for describing creativity in technology-based learning environments, and for detecting creative outcomes from students’ interactions with these environments. This project is carried out together with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. The project contributes to basic research, both in computer science and educational technology. Further goals of the project are:
- Developing machine learning models to detect creativity in students while using educational technology.
- Providing visualizations for teachers to support the creative thinking process of students.
- Lastly, it involves developing algorithms for producing machine-generated support that will adapt to the needs of students, directing their interactions in a way that facilitates the creative process.
